Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed
  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conduct and coordinate inspections to assess physical conditions and safe work practices
  • Assist with the development of controls for identified hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from result of hazard analysis. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control systems, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improvement toward elimination of work place accidents and injuries
  • Conduct OSHA training for new and existing employees
  • Coordinate OSHA record-keeping and reporting requirements
  • Compile, analyze, interpret, and report accidents. Review property and injury reports.
  • Self-starter yet able to take direction
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, other ESG employees, and the public using principles of good customer service
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations regarding occupational health and safety
  • Ability to investigate and report on-the-job accidents and work-related incidents.
  • Ability to identify unsafe working conditions and practices through on-site inspections.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, interpret, and apply technical information, e.g. laws, standards, regulations, and policies relating to occupational health and safety.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Analyze problems; apply logic; identify alternative solutions; project consequences of proposed actions and recommend/implement effective solutions in support of stated goals and objectives and/or recommendations.
Associates degree with a minimum 3 years related industry experience in safety and health management and compliance 

License(s) or Certification(s) Required:
Must have a valid driver’s license in the state employed

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing some duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
