ESG Operations, an Inframark Company, is hiring a Utility and Safety Manager to join our Opelika Team. In this position, you would use your experience in utility construction management and water line/sewer connection inspection to lead our team's safety, maintenance, and repair programs.
You would:
Read maps, plans details, and profiles.
Perform utility and sewer inspections, both in-person and by video of constructed sewer lines and manholes.
Performing low pressure air testing on sewer lines, manhole vacuum test, and go/no go mandrel pull on sewer lines.
Attend meetings with internal and external clients and contractors.
Responsible for establishing operating procedures and safety programs.
Monitors preventative maintenance programs and corrective maintenance activities; modify processes and procedures.
Evaluate and offer solutions to team member work performance, including counseling and disciplinary action.
Assists with interviewing applicants and offers recommendations on hiring.
Qualificiations:
High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Five years' experience as a construction manager or any combination of education, experience or training which provides the required knowledge and skills.
Supplemental training and certifications in Public Works preferred
Knowledge of: • Public Works principles and practices of methods used with an emphasis on more efficient processes. • Supervising, mentoring, and coaching of employees. • Inspection processes for water and sewer lines and construction. • Federal, State and local utility regulations. • Safety practices and procedures. Knowledge of types of pipe and fittings used in sewer utility industry. Knowledge of construction procedures for utilities. Basic understanding of municipal sewer infrastructure, including lift stations, force mains, and collection systems.
Skill in: • Supervising and training subordinate employees. • Operating various related equipment. • Effective oral and written communication. • Evaluating operating parameters and procedures. • MS Office or similar software skills. • Testing on sewer connections, sewer mains, etc.
Ability to: • Work nights and/or weekends when emergencies occur. • Must have valid Drivers License.
